Hippocoronium

HIPPOCORO´NIUM (Ἱπποκορώνιον), a city in Crete mentioned by Strabo (10. p. 472), which Höck has placed near Hierapytna. Mr. Pashley (Trav. vol. 1. p. 62) considers that the modern Apokóirona is a corruption of the ancient name.
