Nitriae

(Νιτρίαι) or Nitrariae (Νίτραιαι). The celebrated natron lakes (“nitre-producing”) in Lower Egypt, which lay in a valley on the southwestern margin of the Delta (Pliny , Pliny H. N. xxxi. 111).
