Rossomanno

ROSSOMANNO (Mount Rossomanno) Enna, Sicily.

A site located 9 km to the S of Valguarnera, at 889 m above sea level. On the highest part of the hill are remains of houses, which go back to the 5th c. B.C., with evidence of life down to the 3d c. B.C. The necropolis, which occupied a large area to the NW of the mount, is largely unexplored; a few graves have yielded funerary goods also attributable to the 5th-3d c. B.C. The area has not been systematically investigated.
