uninitiated: prŏfānus (not consecrated): Virg. Aen. 6, 258. Used fig.: u. in learning, literarum p., opp. doctrinâ initiati, Macr. S. S. 1, 18, init. Or without a figure, rudis, ignarus; and by change of fig., peregrinus, hospes: v. IGNORANT, UNACQUAINTED WITH, etc.
