Mnesistratus

1. An astronomer mentioned by Censorinus (de Die Nat. 100.18). He was the author of a modification of the cycle, called ὀκταετηρίς.

2. A native of Thasos, a disciple of Plato. (D. L. 3.47.)

There was a sect of philosophers called Mnesistrateans, but who their founder was is not known. (Athen. 7.279.) [C.P.M]
