epodon
Epōdon
(ἐπῳδόν) or Epōdos (ἐπῳδός). A name applied by grammarians to any poem in which a long and a short line are combined, especially an iambic trimeter and dimeter. The so-called Epodes of Horace were by him styled simply Iambi (Epod. xiv. 7). See Beck, De Vera Epodon Horat. Indole (Troppau, 1873); and the article Horatius.
