laurĭōtis, is, f. adj., = Λαυριῶτις,
- from Laurion, in Attica, where there were silver mines; hence, spodos, the ashes which, in smelting silver, remain in the furnace, dross, scoria, Plin. 34, 13, 34, § 132.
