N.A. 6.53 ; so von Wölfen, λάψοντες γλώσσῃσιν ὕδωρ, Il. 16.161 ; vom Hunde, τὸ αἷμα λάπτουσι προθύμως, Plut. Sol. an. 16. – Uebh. gierig trinken, schlürfen, τὸ δʼ αἷμα λέλαφας τοὐμόν, Ar. bei Ath. XI.485e, der es ἀθρόως πιεῖν erklärt, u. med., λεπαστήν, austrinken, XI.485a, aus Pherecr.; Sp. sagten auch λάπτειν τινός. – Auch = λαπάζειν, ausleeren, soll es gebraucht sein, vgl. Ath.
