Herillus

(Ἥριλλος). A native of Carthage, a Stoic philosopher, the disciple of Zeno of Citium, though differing from him in various points of doctrine. He held that the chief good is knowledge (ἐπιστήμη), a notion attacked by Cicero. (See Diog. Laert. vii. 165 foll.; Academ. ii. 42; De Fin. ii. 11, 13 and often).
