Aeora

or Eōra (αἰώρα, ἐώρα). (1) A festival at Athens accompanied with sacrifices and banquets in commemoration of Erigoné (q.v.).

(2) A swing, which was a favourite amusement in Greece, as in modern times. The illustration shows a group engaged in swinging one another.
