Suances
SUANCES (“Portus Blendium”) Santander, Spain.
On the coast 31 km W of Santander. Pliny (HN 4.3) located Portus Blendium in Cantabria, the nearest port E of Portus Victoriae Iuliobrigensium. The Itinerarium of Varro makes it the terminus of the road from Iuliobriga to the coast, a stretch of which is preserved. It is either in Suances or nearby, where several Roman objects have been found.
