- be carried upon, ride upon, οὐ μὰν ὑμῖν γε (the horses of Achilles) καὶ ἅρμασι δαιδαλέοισιν Ἕκτωρ..ἐποχήσεται Il. 17.449, cf. Arr. Tact. 17.1; ἐφʼ ἵππῳ Paus. 6.20.16: abs., κάμηλον ὥστε ἐποχεῖσθαι a camel to ride on, X. Cyr. 7.1.49; of a fractured bone, rest or ride on the adjoining one, Hp.
