Fr. 122.7: rarely of persons, and then mostly of women, ἐγείνατο παῖδʼ ἐρατεινήν Od. 4.13, cf. h.Cer. 423, Hes. Th. 136, 909; ὁμηλικίη ἐ. her lovely companions, Il. 3.175; of Polyphemus, οὐδʼ ἀρʼ ἔμελλʼ ἑτάροισι φανεὶς ἐ. ἔσεσθαι a welcome, glad sight to my comrades, Od. 9.230.—Ep. and Lyr.word: epith. of ὕδατα, Hp. Aër. 5.

ἐρατεινός, lieblich, anmutig, bei Hom. am gewöhnlichsten von Ländern u. Städten ; ἠνορέη, δαίς, φιλότης, ἀμβροσίη h.Apoll. 124 ; ἄθυρμα h.Merc. 40 ; selten von Menschen, παῖς Od. 4.13 ; οὐδʼ ἄρʼ ἔμελλʼ ἑτάροισι φανεὶς ἐρατεινὸς ἔσεσθαι, den Gefährten erwünscht, willkommen, 9.230 ; von Göttinnen, Hes. Th. 136, 909 ; ὕδωρ Pind. Ol. 6.85 ; μέλι I. 4.59 ; εὐναί frg. 87. Das Wort ist nur episch u. lyrisch. Bei Plut. Arat. 45 heißt Mantinea so mit Anspielung auf Il. 2.607.
