Placidus

one of the generals of Vespasian in the war against the Jews, frequently mentioned by Josephus. (Vit. 43, 74, B. J. 3.7. §§ 3, 34, 4.1.8, &c.)

the tribune of a cohort of V>espasian's army, who dragged Vitellius out of the lurking-place in which he had concealed himself. (Tac. Hist. 3.85; comp. D. C. 65.20; Suet. Vitell. 16.)
