- lie down, pres. only in Hsch. λέχεται (λεύχεται cod.)· κοιμᾶται, cf. Theognost. Can. 139: pf. part. λελοχυῖα ( = λεχὼ γενομένη) Hsch.; other tenses in Ep.: fut. λέξομαι: aor. ἐλεξάμην; also 3sg. aor. ἔλεκτο, λέκτο; imper. λέξο, λέξεο (v. infr.):—lie down, esp. to sleep, λέξεται ὕπνῳ will lie asleep, Il. 4.131, cf. Od. 7.319; λέξομαι εἰς εὐνήν 17.102: aor., πὰρ δʼ Ἑλένη ἐλέξατο 4.305; τῷ ἔνι λεξάσθην Il. 14.350; λεξάσθων παρὰ τάφρον let them bivouac, 9.67, cf. 8.519; ἔλεκτο Od. 19.50, Hes.
