- an ancient ending of 2 pers. sg. act., in Hom. and other Poets, mostly in subj., as ἐθέλῃσθα, ἔχῃσθα, εἴπῃσθα, rarely in opt. as κλαίοισθα. In Attic it was retained in some irreg. Verbs, ἦσθα, οἶσθα, ᾔδησθα.
