ὑποκρέκω, of stringed instruments,
- answer in sound, i.e. sound in harmony with, τὸ καυχᾶσθαι παρὰ καιρὸν μανίαισιν ὑποκρέκει Pi. O. 9.39.
- 2 trans., ὑ. τι play an accompaniment, Luc. DMeretr. 15.2; τὸ ἡδὺ καὶ τὸ πρὸς χάριν ὑ., of a flatterer, Plu. Adul. 2.55d.
