ἀμαθύνω, to level with the sand, utterly destroy
ἀμᾰθύνω, (ἄμαθος) Ep., only pres., impf., and (in Q.S. 14.645) aor.:—
- level with the dust, utterly destroy, πόλιν Il. 9.593; [ἄνδρα] μέγα φωνοῦντα A. Eu. 937 (lyr.); ἀ. ἐν φλογὶ σάρκα Theoc. 2.26:—Pass., Q.S. 2.334.
- 2 scatter like sand, h.Merc. 140.
1 reducir a polvo o ceniza
πόλιν δέ τε πῦρ ἀμαθύνει

Aristonic. ἀμαθύνει : ὅτι ἄμαθον ποιεῖ· οὕτως δὲ λέγει τὴν πεδιάσιμον κόνιν. ὁ δὲ αἰσχύλος ἐπὶ τοῦ διαφθείρειν ψιλῶς τέταχε, περὶ τοῦ Ἀκταίωνος λέγων »κύνες διημάθυνον ἄνδρα δεσπότην (fr. 257 Hermann)« ; vgl.
