προτένθης, ὁ, ein Leckermaul, der vorher Etwas benascht oder kostet, Ar. Nub. 1180, wo die Schol. neben λίχνος ἢ ἀκρατής auch erkl. οἱ προλαμβάνοντες καὶ προεσθίοντες τὰ ὄψα πρὶν ἐς ἀγορὰν κομισθῆναι, καὶ μεταπιπράσκοντες πλείονος, οἱ νῦν μετάβολοι καλούμενοι ; vgl. Pherecrat. bei Ath. I V.171c, der es durch προγεύστης erkl. u. ein Psephisma aus Athen anführt, in welchem eine Art Priester so genannt sind, wie die παράσιτοι. – Als fem. Ael. H.A. 15.10.
