- hobbled along beneath, in the phrase γούνατα δʼ ἐρρώσαντο, πόδες δʼ ὑπερικταίνοντο Od. 23.3: according to Aristarch. it meant ἄγαν ἐπάλλοντο, and other ancient critics gave other explanations, v. EM 779.9; a reading ὑποακταίνοντο ( = ἔτρεμον) is mentioned in Hsch.; cf. ἀκταίνω.
