δολῐχ-αυλος, ον,

δολίχαυλος, mit langer Röhre od. mit langem Schafte, langröhrig, langschaftig ; Homer einmal, Od. 9.156 αἰγανέας δολιχαύλους. Apoll. Lex. Hom. 59.33 δολιχαύλους μακρὸν τὸν αὐλὸν ἐχούσας. Der αὐλός ist entweder der Schaft des Speeres, oder die Röhre der metallenen Spitze, in welche der Schaft hineingesteckt wird, vgl. Scholl.
