ὄχα
ὄχα, far
ὄχᾰ, Ep. Adv., used by Hom. only as intens. before the Sup.
- far the best, Il. 1.69, al.; cf. ἔξοχα. (Prob. from ἔχω to hold; ὄχα is to ὀχυρός as the old Germ. fast very, to fest fast, tight.)
ὄχα [ᾰ] adv. tout à fait, beaucoup, dev. un sup. : ὄχ’ ἄριστος, Il. 1, 69, etc. de beaucoup le meilleur ou le plus brave.
Étym. ἔχω ; cf. ἔξοχα.
Il. 1.69. Vgl.
