- send forth or away, dismiss, discharge, τινα Il. 8.365, 11.3, Od. 15.370; σιάλων τὸν ἄριστον 14.18; ὀϊστὸν ἀπὸ νευρῆς Theoc. 25.235.—Ep. word, used by Hom. always in impf. without augm.

To send away or dispatch for use: σιάλων τὸν ἄριστον Od. 14.18.
