παραπνέω,

• blow beside, escape by a sideway, of the winds confined by Aeolus, Od. 10.24; blow beside or next to, c. acc., ὁ Ἀπηλιώτης ἔχει παραπνέοντας αὐτὸν τὸν Εὖρον καὶ τὸν Καικίαν Gp. 1.11.2.

παραπνέω, (πνέω), daneben wehen, durch eine Nebenöffnung wehen, od. die eingeschlossene Luft auslassen, ἵνα μή τι παραπνεύσῃ ὀλίγον περ Od. 10.24, u. einzeln bei Sp., bei denen es auch heißt »daneben nach Etwas riechen«, einen Nebengeruch haben, τινός, wovon.

Of wind, to blow past something : ἵνα μή τι παραπνεύσειʼ ὀλίγον περ Od. 10.24 (i.e. so that none of the winds might slip past the fastening of the bag).
