θαλασσοκοπέω, (das Meer schlagen, s. B.A. 42.28, εἴ τις τὴν θάλατταν κόπτοι, μάτην ἂν κόπτοι), neben πλατυγίζειν Ar. Eq. 830, unnützes Zeug schwatzen, Schol. ματαιολογεῖν, θορυβεῖν ; Liban. vrbdt es mit φλυαρέω.
